Henry, Henry, Henry! Last week as he was going to bed, he looked a little suspicious to me. Stealth is not his gift. He will often say, "Mommy, don't look at me for a minute." and then I know that he's about to do something he shouldn't. This time he was walking all curled forward with his backpack in his hands.
"What are you doing, Henry?'
"Nothing!" he replied. Another dead giveaway.
"Henry come here. I need to see what you've got."
And he reluctantly came over to me to face the music. He was trying to put a toy car in his backpack because a friend at after-school wanted to see it. I re-explained the rules against taking toys to school and he started to argue back. In trying to find a middle ground where he could show this toy to his friend without taking it to school, I suggested that he put it in my bag and I would bring it to him at his after-school program where he could show his friend.
He readily agreed to this and I got distracted with getting Benjamin ready for bed, so it wasn't until the next day when I got to work, that I looked into my bag.
