Five Minute Friday: She
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community...
Five minutes on she...
I have never met in her in real life. I follow her words daily on a facebook page. We have a lot in common. We're both women, both mothers, both Catholic. But there is a difference. She has a sick child. It breaks my heart to read about him, but it also makes me rejoice. The strength she shows through her words amazes me. We are all praying for miracles-in fact, have already received some. He was near death last week. He was anointed by our priest. Family was called in. And then...a miracle. The descent stopped...paused...turned around. She was given the gift of extra time with him. And now the possibility for more treatment and more extra time. He is awake and coherent. He is talking with his family and nurses. He is trying to get out of his hospital bed and trying to take a few steps. He amazes me. She amazes me as well. I pray that if my faith were ever tested as her is, that I would be able to have the hope that she does. We have never met in real life, but she is an inspiration to me.
If you would like to offer your prayers you can keep up with Sam and his family through their facebook page.
